Memorial Day Activities on The Space Coast

Memorial Day weekend on Florida’s Space Coast is a special mix of remembrance, community events, and the unofficial start of summer. Across Brevard County, residents and visitors will gather to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

One of the weekend’s most meaningful traditions is the Rolling Thunder “Ride for Freedom” on Merritt Island, where hundreds of motorcycles and supporters come together to honor veterans, POWs, MIAs, and fallen heroes. Memorial Day ceremonies will also take place throughout the county, including tributes at Cocoa Riverfront Park and Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims featuring patriotic music, military honors, and moments of reflection.

Beyond the ceremonies, the Space Coast comes alive with family-friendly activities, live music, waterfront dining, and beach gatherings. Cocoa Beach, Cape Canaveral, Melbourne, and Cocoa Village will all be buzzing with visitors enjoying local restaurants, festivals, and oceanfront sunsets.

Memorial Day weekend also marks the beginning of summer on the Space Coast. Expect busy beaches, surfers catching waves at sunrise, and families spending time together along Brevard’s beautiful shoreline.

As we enjoy everything Brevard County has to offer this weekend, let’s also remember the true meaning of Memorial Day — honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
